Lois Ibey - Passed away November 18, 2007

"I learned today from Scott Ibey, that his mother, Lois Ibey, passed away November 18th after a long illness.   Beyond her family I feel that Lois's greatest love was for The Marlin Club.  For many years she held the Club together with a tight hand and deep personal commitment.  She always held us all to the strictest of the Club traditions.  She helped me out a lot (and chewed me out, too).  I will sincerely miss her."

Having known Lois Ibey in two ways, I feel twice as fortunate. I first became acquainted with Lois during the summer of 1978. My father, George "Karima" Nelsen had just landed his first broadbill and as a young person I was naturally interested in all the "Tasks" delegated to this very professional as well as conscientious lady. Lois truly followed every task given her to it's completion. Anything short of this was unacceptable to her. New to San Diego, we relied on her that day for "Photographic", "Taxidermy", & many other references. Lois was literally a "walking Yellow Pages" for the members of The Marlin Club.
