by Charles Been, Club President

It’s September and we have the Labor Day Tournament this weekend.  Fish Sat. and Sunday and come to the BBQ Monday at 5PM.  THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE BBQ!

Now that I have you attention, I need to point out that you to notify the club that your are going to fish the tournament, you can fax, call, or drop the entry form by the Marlin Club, BEFORE you go fishing.  You must be entered before the boat leaves the dock.

Also we need a head count for the BBQ.  Please notify the Marlin Club with the number of persons attending the BBQ.

As of today (8/30/06) we have had 52 marlin either released or brought in to the Marlin Club, with the largest weighing in at 197 lbs and the smallest at 81 lbs.  The season is warming up and September should be a good month.

Upcoming tournaments – ILTT September 8-9 with the banquet the 10th. See the web site for entry details or pick up an entry at the Marlin Club.  Then on October 8-9 we have the Small Boat Tournament.  This tournament is limited to a boat length of 26 feet or less.  It’s a lot of fun, but also has some nice prizes.  For information see out web site www.themarlinclub.com. Or stop by the office for the details.

With the season started, fishing stories are flying around.  You can get Harold Weimer to tell you about his lost EAL jig.  You might also ask him about losing his favorite marlin jig to a small Dorado.

Good Fishing
