From
the Bridge Being your new president, May starts my first experience writing a monthly column. Not being very adept at this, I consulted with past presidents, Wayne Slahor and Bob Woodard Jr. on what to do. Bob told me to thank every one for the help they had given the club this last month and be myself with the rest of the column. Hearing this, Wayne hung his head, muttered something like “Lord have Mercy” and walked away. SO here we go… People I need to thank for their help at the Club Clean Up Day: The Club’s resident electrician, Art Ponce and Wayne Slayhor, Dennis Albert, Sandy Kaiser, Penny Olfers, Bob Woodard Jr., and Doug Rodgers People I need to thank for Day at the Docks and The Kids Fishing Day: Roger Everets, Penny Olfers, Doug Rodgers, Bob Woodard Jr., Art Ponce, Charlie and Wayne Slahor, Don Wroncy, Jack Wroncy, Dennis Albert, Our Yearly Bait Boat-“MOONSHINE TOO” and it’s skipper Ed Waldman, Harold Weimer and Woody Brickley. And a thank you to anyone that I missed. Upcoming Events you don’t want to miss: Sunday, May 7, 4:30 PM - The First Potluck of 2006. We have Bob Hoose from Berkley and Sevenstrand to come to give us tips for rigging jigs, using the new EAL from Berkley, and other secrets. Bring a dish to share. We will spread them all out in a potluck. If you would like a change in dinner menu, this is your chance. The club will provide drinks, and utensils, you need to bring a main dish, a side dish or desert. May 20, Spring Shootout Yellowtail, White Seabass, Halibut, see the flyer in the Gaff Line and enter. According to my crew from last year, if I can win in the Seabass category, ANYONE CAN WIN! (They don’t know what skill is) That about fills the page, I hope to see all of you at the Potluck, bring your friends and have a good time. Charles
