It’s that time of year to get your fishing gear ready and to figure out which of our tournaments you’re going to enter and win (this could be a good time to break out that new rod/reel you purchased at the tackle show).

We have some great tournaments going on with even greater prizes (example: Halibut Tournament = grand prize is a 5-day fishing trip on the Intrepid – WOW!) Several of our tournaments have an early bird sign up where you can save some dough or win a special prize. We have great raffles prizes too!!

We need more people to sign up for our tournaments. Be sure to tell your fishing buddies about them and encourage them to fish the tournaments. The greater the number of participants; the better the competition and more fun for all.
I have mine picked out – do you??

Hopefully, be the time you read this the parking lot will have a fresh coat of sealant and be looking good for our upcoming season. We still have a lot of work to do on the club during “club clean up day” (Saturday, April 17th) so come on down and help us out. Even if you can only stay for a little while your help would be appreciated.

Thanks to Bret Gann of Falcon Sales for the donation of the office chairs and desk for the club. Bret isn’t much into fishing but is a neighbor and knew of our needs for the club and came though for us. Thanks Bret!

Don’t forget to bring your kids to the club for the Club Open House and Day at the Dock activities! Sign them up for the Kid’s Fishing Contest; we have some great prizes and FREE hotdogs. There will also be some competition for the adult fishermen in the crowd!

APRIL EVENTS  -- Mark Your Calendars – Support Your Club

Tuesday, 6th         Annual Meeting

Silvergate Yacht Club 7:00pm
Guest Speaker
:   Michael Farrior

It’s important that you attend. Why?  We have several by-law changes to discuss and approve including 1) allow a 40 lb albacore to move a member into the active status 2) having a separate category for full time professionally skipped boats and 3) giving the Broad of Directors the authority to change the annual meeting date as needed.  Your attendance is necessary.  We would also like to review our discussions with the Port district and the possibility of having to increase our dues.

Words of Wisdom

Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables, and not disregarding gluttony and booze. It’s in the top five.
