I am sad to report that long time club member, Tim Lowey, passed away on February 6, 2003 from lung disease. Tim joined the club August 4, 1965 and became active October 14, 1972. Before Tim passed away he asked his son, Tim, to thank his many friends for their cards and heartfelt wishes- it was a great source of comfort. Our prays go to his family & friends, he will be missed by many.
I want to thank everyone who attended our 2003 Annual Membership Meeting, which was held April 1st at the Bay Club Marina & Hotel. The new location was very nice and accommodating. We had approximately 40 club members in attendance. Our guest speaker was Graham Mackintosh, who has written books of his two journeys walking all through Baja – one with a burro. Graham was a very entertaining and informative speaker through his slide show presentation. Inside this issue you will find more information from this meeting.
APRIL EVENTS
April 12th - Club Clean Up Day
Volunteers Needed – Call Wayne or leave message at club. Painters, weed controllers, organizers, and elbow grease needed. The fun starts at 9:00am through 1:00pm and we’ll include the refreshments.
April 12th – San Diego Fireman’s Stop, Drop and Reel Halibut Tournament
Firefighters Charity Halibut Tournament April 12th

Looking for something to do at the Club? Meeting Highlights
This will enable the Marlin Club to assist scientists with their tagging efforts. Phase
I will be to have a group of boats go out and tag marlin. Three tags will be placed in
fish. Phase II will enable members and public to wager where the furthermost tag will pop
