Despite several petitions to the contrary yours truly has been asked to continue
producing this monthly publication. Other committee Chairs will be forthcoming.
ANNUAL MEETING: THIS IS THE CLUBS MAJOR MEETING OF THE YEAR. NEW OFFICERS WILL BE INTRODUCED AND PROPOSED BY-LAWS CHANGES WILL BE VOTED ON. THIS WILL REQUIRE A QUORUM SO PLEASE MARK APRIL 2 ON YOUR CALENDAR. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SOUTHWESTERN YACHT CLUB (2702 QUALTROUGH ST.) AT 7 P.M. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND. INTERESTING SPEAKERS HAVE BEEN LINED UP AND A FISHING REEL WILL BE RAFFLED OFF TO THOSE 2002 DUES PAID MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE. ONE OF THE SPEAKERS WILL BE MC MEMBER STEVE CUSHMAN (PRESIDENT OF THE PORT AUTHORITY) WHO WILL GIVE A SHORT UP-DATE AS TO THE PORTS PLANS. WE TRIED TO GET HIM TO DONATE A JAGUAR, OR AT LEAST A HONDA, FOR THE RAFFLE, BUT YOU KNOW HOW THAT GOES. TIM HOBBS, A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE NATIONAL COALITION for MARINE CONSERVATION, WILL GIVE A SHORT (?) REPORT ON THE NCMC CONSERVATION EFFORTS IN OUR LOCAL WATERS.
FROM THE BOARD: Be aware that Club cleanup day is coming up soon and we would like to enlist all budding Michaelangelos and/or DaVincis to participate in a repainting of the Club Sign. A little fresh paint never hurts. By the way dues were due on March 1st.
ANOTHER CONTEST: With more and more talk of a coming El Nino the following question comes to mind: Have any Marlin ever been caught in Southern California waters in the month of February? If you believe that fantasy how many? When? By whom? Bring your answers to the April meeting.

Many thanks to ALL of our subscribers. We owe them our support and gratitude.
SUBSCRIBERS OF THE MONTH
This month, rather than pick out one single individual, and especially in view of the Clubs need to increase revenues, let us make mention of those members who simply support the Club with their "Personal" ads. With a full-page $90 ad these individuals can direct their thoughts to the Club, to other individuals, or as a simple gesture of support for the Marlin Club. These ads help to defray the cost of printing the Year Book and once the "break-even" costs are met the rest is profit to the Club. Every little bit helps and we urge everyone to think about helping out with one of these full-page ads. Of course, the smaller ads are more than welcome. We thank you, in advance, for your support.
The Board also wishes to remind you that a number of shirts from previous tournaments are still available. Come in try on a couple and maybe you can make a deal.
