Tournament turned out very well, everyone had a great time. We had special guests at the event including Mike Farrior from the IGFA, Ed Zieralski from the Union Tribune just to name a couple We couldn't have asked for a better day. Beautiful seas, with the wind picking up later in the morning for a nice drift. The halibut were a bit scratchy but as you can see from the results a few nice ones were landed. At the BBQ, however, there were more than a few stories of the big ones right to the boat and you know the rest. Yellowtail were to be had east of South Island and at the middle grounds. I had a 12.9 yellowtail, and as we passed Bob James on the Tres Mas he held up a white sea bass they had caught slow trolling earlier in the day, little did I know that with only a few minutes left for weigh in that a White Seabass at 13.8 lbs. would cost me the 530.00 winner take all cash jackpot!
