Registration may be
accomplished by mail, or in person at SWYC between 5 AM and 7 AM on the
day of the tournament. Those registering by mail must have a
representative of the boat sign in at SWYC on the day of the tournament.
Registered anglers may enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet at the
Yacht Club.

Registrations
received prior to 4/22/07 will qualify for an ‘Early Bird’ drawing, for
a $100 prize.

Registrants wishing
to bring their boats to the Yacht Club on Friday night should contact
the office at 619-222-0438 to obtain a slip or side tie as soon as
possible. These accommodations are available on a first come first
served basis.

The fishing
boundaries will be: The 120 fathom curve from La Jolla to the Rock Pile.

California Fish and
Game Regulations will be used to determine the tournament awards.

Channel 72 is the
official channel for this tournament.
-
It is the
responsibility of the boat owners to ensure that all persons are
licensed for Mexican and/or US waters as appropriate. Mexico also
requires boat permits.
- Only Rock
Cod and Lingcod will count in this tournament.
Lingcod must measure at least 24
inches, and Bocaccio (Salmon Grouper) must measure over 10 inches. Only
one Bocaccio can be weighed in for each angler on the boat.
There is a separate and special award
for the largest Lingcod. All other awards are for Rock Cod only. Cow
Cod, Halibut, Sheephead, and Whitefish will not be counted towards any
awards.

Perpetual Trophy to
the Top Club: The two top boats from each participating club will
constitute a team for the Perpetual Trophy. Each team will weigh in
their five largest Rock Cod. The total weight per boat, of the top two
boats, will determine the trophy winner.
- All boats
departing from San Diego Bay will leave the America Cup Basin at 7 AM
with a ‘shot gun” start and will return to weigh in their catch no later
than 4 PM or will be disqualified.

All boats
departing from Mission Bay must register at SWYC between 5 AM and 7 AM
and may not clear the Mission Bay breakwater before 7 AM. Mission Bay
boats will have until 4:30 PM to present their fish for weigh in at SWYC.

A. Largest Rock
Cod taken by a Lady 1st $300.00, 2nd $250.00, 3rd

B. Largest Rock
Cod taken by a Man 1st $300.00, 2nd $250.00, 3rd

C. Largest Rock
Cod taken by a Junior (Under 16 years old) 1st $200.00, 2nd
$150.00, 3rd $100.00
D. Largest Rock
Cod taken by an angler on a Sailboat $200.00
E. Special award
for the largest Lingcod. This is the only award for Lingcod. A
Custom Rod.
All bottom fish weighed in for
trophies will be used for the evening fish fry, to help offset the cost of
the tournament and ensure top quality fresh fish. Anglers will fillet the
fish at SWYC. ****Volunteers to assist us at the fillet station are
needed and most welcome.****
14. Only one Adult
(male or female) and one Junior prize per boat. (2 prizes maximum)
15. Cocktails start at
5 PM and Dinner will be served at 6 PM. The awards ceremony and
opportunity drawings will immediately follow dinner. Those clubs wishing
to sit together at the banquet MUST purchase tickets at the morning
registration only. This allows us time to assign your club seats
together. Additional dinner tickets will be sold on a space available
basis.
14. In the event of
weather cancellation, we will still have the breakfast, dinner and
drawings.
16. This is a “FUN” tournament for
charity. Please have a good time and catch a lot of fish! |
