We had a 5 way tie for 1st place with 2 releases apiece. 
Names were drawn for the order of the winners.

1st place went to OLD BLUE

4th  "     "  ENCOUNTER       
There was no 5th prize, although the LIVELY ONE would have been 5th.
The boats with one fish each are:  MOONSHINE II, SQUARED AWAY, ENDEAVOUR, MARLIN MAN & BOUNTY BAY IV.

Tournament Information and Rules
 

 

  • IGFA / Marlin Club rules shall apply.
     
  • Cost is $100 per angler – minimum 2 per team. All on board must be paid entrants.
     
  •  Early Bird Sign Up – Paid entrants prior to August 15th are entered into a special raffle.
     

  • Team Boats from Fishing Clubs or Organizations are encouraged to join.  A club boat is defined as 1 or more boats with 2 or more anglers representing any club or organization. There will be a team plaque awarded to the winning team's boat name. This plaque can be displayed at the wining team’s headquarters. There will be an additional team prize of Custom Jackets for the winnings teams (maximum 8).
     
  • Large Boat / Small Boat Divisions – Boats 30’ and under will be in the small boat category. Boats over 30’ will be in the large boat category.
     
  • Captains Meeting - Thursday, September 7th at 5:30pm at The Marlin Club. One member of each team must attend.
     
  • Digital Cameras – One per boat required. Will be initialized at start of the tournament.
     

  • Lines in / Lines out – Friday (9/8) lines in 6:00am  - lines out 5:00 pm
     
  • Lines in / Lines out – Saturday (9/9) lines in 6:00 am – lines out 5:00pm
     
  • Weigh in by 10:30 pm Sept 9th – Weigh slips or release slips MUST be in by 10:30 pm as well as the cameras. Faxed slips are acceptable

  • Tackle - 30 lb maximum for Marlin and 50 lb maximum for Swordfish
     
  • Scoring - 1 point per pound for boated fish and 150 points for each released fish. Fish weighed in under 150 lbs will receive a double point penalty. Example: fish weighs 142 lbs = 8 lbs below minimum will be penalized 16 points = 126 points total. Total time of catch from hookup to leadering.  Catches under 10 minutes must be tagged.
     
  • Fish - Marlin and Swordfish are the only two species allowed for point accumulation
     
  • Fishing Area – 65 miles from #3 buoy (32-38.2 by 111-14.2) Chairman reserves the right to adjust the grid to accommodate fishing.
     
  • Tournament Channel is 65 – in the event that the reception on channel 65 is not at it’s best, an area boat will be designated as Tournament Control.
     
  • Tournament Control  - All hook-ups MUST be reported to Tournament Control immediately after hook-up. Before leadering a fish, intent to release or boat the fish MUST be reported to Tournament Control. Contact Tournament Control at the time of release or boating of the fish. The release form MUST be a Marlin Club form and filled out immediately after the release and signed by all on board. 
     
  • Tie – Ties will be broken based on the time that the hook up is boated or released. In case of an absolute tie, the winner will be determined by raffle, lottery or another agreed upon method as decided by the anglers and the tournament board.
     
  • Release and Tagging of all Marlin is encouraged.

¨       First Place Large Boat Division – Penn 975 Level Drag Reel per angler/maximum of 4

¨       Second through Fourth Place – Small & Large Boat Divisions  - Prizes awarded will be based on number of participants

¨       Unclaimed awards will be in an anglers’ raffle.
